My Secret Garden Colouring book, part 2

A couple of days ago a found Johanna Basford's Facebookpage. Many people send her pictures of their colouring book and Johanna posts the pictures on her Facebookpage.

I'm currently working on the page with the well.
I imagine it is a warm summer afternoon, the sun is shining and the well is situated in a shady spot surrounded by plants and flowers. In the background you will see a sunny blue sky and the impression that there is a sunny area in the garden behind the well.




So far I've used yellows, light greens and blues in the background.
I'm adding many layers of colour on top of each other. I also decide where the light comes from and then I shade some areas. I use blue to shade in this fase.

My Secret Garden colouring book, part 1

A couple of months ago a friend told me you can now buy colouring books for adults.
I was so exited hearing that!So I bought the most beautiful colouring book I could find, the one made by Johanna Basford, My Secret Garden.

This colouring book is absolutely stunning, I love the detailed drawings and there is so much to explore in the drawings; flowers, birds, bees, butterflies, ladybirds, keys to secret doors, and drawings of gardens I wish I had as my own garden. 
I'm currently colouring several pages, one of them is this circle of flowers. I'm using my Bruynzeel Design coloured pencils for this drawing. I make sure my pencils are sharpened all the time because they colour so much better and more precise when they are sharpened.




As you can see I need to work a little more on some flowers and leaves.
One of my absolute favourite pages in My Secret Garden is the one with the door. It reminds me of the book The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. …
